Welcome to St Columba's Church of Scotland, a home away from home

Giving to the Church

All our giving whether of time, talents or money is to be seen as a proper stewardship of the gifts we have received. Each of us is called to review regularly the extent of our commitments and to make a fitting response which reflects our particular circumstances:

Gift Aid
If you are a taxpayer you can sign a Gift Aid Declaration which will cover all your giving to the Church. Your offerings may be given through the Freewill Offering envelope scheme or the Gift Aid Envelopes in the pews. Please consider making additional regular payments to the Church by executing a bank standing order. The Church is able to reclaim the tax on all your gifts making each £1 given worth £1.28.

Payroll Giving
[Registration Number 009524] Anyone who pays tax through PAYE can give to the Church through payroll giving and obtain immediate tax relief on such gifts. With the co-operation of their employer (and at no cost to the employer) deductions can be made from pay and transferred to the Church.

Donation of Shares
Shares quoted on any recognised Stock Exchange may be donated to the Church free of any liability for Capital Gains Tax or with full income tax relief to the donor (at their highest rate of tax) on the market value of the shares transferred. Further details may be obtained through the Church Office.

Legacies
Any gifts bequeathed to St. Columba's, whether cash or otherwise, are exempt from any Inheritance Tax. A suitable form of words for inclusion in your Will and for discussion with you own Solicitor may be obtained from the Church Office.

For further information please contact David Nicolson (Honorary Treasurer) Robin Forrest (Covenant Treasurer) Charlotte Bradford (freewill Offering) via the Church office.
